1. Who we are
VI Software Solutions operates Gofer Pro. This policy explains how we handle personal information through our website, web and mobile applications, customer hubs, and connected services. Our privacy contact is support@goferpro.ca.
For account administration and our own communications, we determine how information is used. When a service business uses Gofer Pro to manage its customers or staff, we generally process those records on that business’s instructions. That business is responsible for explaining its own privacy practices.
2. Information we handle
- Account and business details: names, email addresses, business contact information, roles, login credentials in protected form, and account settings.
- Customer and work records: contacts, service addresses, leads, bookings, quotes, jobs, visits, invoices, payment history, notes, custom fields, and uploaded documents or photographs.
- Staff information: staff profiles, availability, time-off requests, visit assignments, time entries, and labour costs entered by your business.
- Communications: email and SMS content, sender and recipient details, message attachments, delivery status, opt-out information, and messages sent through customer hubs.
- Technical information: IP addresses, browser or device information, authentication activity, application errors, and service logs needed to operate and protect the service. Mobile notification tokens are processed when notifications are enabled.
- Connected account information: authorization tokens and records you authorize us to access through integrations such as QuickBooks Online or Jobber.
Records may come from you, your employer or service provider, your customers, connected services, or normal use of Gofer Pro. Please avoid placing unnecessary sensitive information in free-text fields or attachments.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide accounts and permissions; manage customer and field-service workflows; send requested quotes, invoices, reminders, and messages; maintain integrations; answer support requests; diagnose problems; prevent misuse; and meet legal obligations. We also use feedback and service information to improve reliability and usability.
Businesses using Gofer Pro must have authority to provide customer and employee information and to send communications. Enabling an integration or notification feature authorizes the processing needed for that feature. Where consent is required, we seek it or rely on the business responsible for obtaining it. You can contact us about withdrawing consent; doing so may limit a feature or our ability to provide the service.
4. QuickBooks Online and other integrations
When an authorized user connects QuickBooks Online, Gofer Pro uses Intuit’s authorization process to access the connected company. Depending on the features used, we process company details, customers, products and services, income accounts, tax settings, invoices, and payment or balance information. We use those records for customer matching, invoice synchronization, accounting setup, and reconciliation. We do not ask for your QuickBooks password.
You can disconnect QuickBooks from Gofer Pro’s integration settings or revoke access through Intuit. Disconnecting stops future authorized synchronization; it does not automatically erase records already imported or sent to either system. Contact us about retained data or deletion.
Jobber migrations process records you authorize us to import. Each external provider also applies its own terms and privacy policy. Connecting a service does not authorize unrelated advertising uses of its data.
5. Who receives information
Information is available to authorized people in your business according to their access, and to the customers or recipients you choose when sharing quotes, invoices, hub links, or messages. Treat customer access links as confidential.
We use service providers to deliver the product, including DigitalOcean for hosting, Amazon Web Services for file storage and backups, Resend for email, Twilio for SMS, and Expo for mobile notification delivery when enabled. Intuit and Jobber receive or provide information when you connect their services. These providers receive information needed for the relevant service.
We may disclose information to professional advisers, when required by law, to investigate abuse or protect rights and safety, or in a business transfer subject to appropriate confidentiality and privacy obligations. We do not sell personal information or use customer records for third-party targeted advertising.
6. Where information is processed
Gofer Pro and its providers may store or process information in Canada, the United States, and other countries where providers operate. For example, file storage and email processing may occur in the United States. Information processed abroad may be subject to those countries’ laws and lawful access requests. We do not promise exclusively Canadian data storage.
7. Cookies and device storage
The application uses cookies and device storage for sign-in, security, preferences, and application functionality. This marketing website does not include advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts. Your browser can block or clear stored data, but some application features may stop working. Links to other websites are subject to those sites’ practices.
8. Retention and deletion
We retain information while needed to provide the service, fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, resolve disputes, maintain security, and satisfy legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of record and the business’s instructions; disconnecting an integration or closing a browser does not delete stored records.
Account owners can contact support@goferpro.ca to request account closure, an available export, or deletion. We verify authority and explain any limitations, including records we must retain. Deleted information may remain in restricted backups until those backups rotate out. Records already shared with customers or external services must also be managed in those systems.
9. Your choices and requests
You may request access to or correction of your personal information, ask about its use or disclosure, or raise a privacy concern by contacting support@goferpro.ca. We may need to verify your identity. We respond within applicable legal time limits and explain any lawful restriction.
If your information belongs to a service business’s customer or staff records, contact that business first. We can help route your request and assist the business. You can manage device notification permissions, disconnect integrations, and use supported SMS opt-out instructions such as replying STOP. Essential account or service notices may still be necessary through other channels.
10. Security and updates
We use access controls, encrypted HTTPS connections, protected credentials, and operational safeguards to reduce unauthorized access. No service can guarantee absolute security. Contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access or disclosure. We address security incidents and required notifications under applicable law.
Gofer Pro is a business service and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has supplied information directly to us, contact us.
We may update this policy as the service changes. The date above identifies the current version. For material changes, we will provide notice appropriate to the change and obtain consent where required. Privacy questions or complaints can be sent to VI Software Solutions at support@goferpro.ca; you may also contact the applicable privacy regulator.
